Gerald Durrell ( 1925 - 1995 ) - conservationist, naturalist, animal explorer, and author, is best remembered for the founding of the Jersey Zoo and Wildlife Conservation Trust, and for his numerous humorous chronicles of his animal collecting and conservation exploits.
